New book: Understanding Quality Peace: Peacebuilding after Civil War

2018-03-07

The book Understanding Quality Peace: Peacebuilding after Civil War has been published by Routledge.

Understanding Quality Peace: Peacebuilding after Civil War It is edited by Peter Wallensteen of the Department and Dr. Madhav Joshi of the Kroc Institute, University of Notre Dame, in the USA.

Peter Wallensteen explains that this is part of a series, where the first one, Quality Peace, came out in 2015 and the third one, co-written by Christian Davenport, Erik Melander and Pat Regan, The Peace Continuum, will appear later this year. Together these volumes attempts to make 'peace' as such researchable, not just 'non-war'. In this volume, twenty-three researchers have their own or co-authored chapters, all focusing on peace building after civil wars.

This has been a project bringing together researchers from Uppsala with others based at the Kroc Institute, Wallensteen says. In the edited volume there are also contributions from Department-affiliated researchers  Louise Olsson, Karen Brounéus and Holly Guthrey.
