Practical Matters

Studying in Sweden

Students with citizenship in a country that is not a member of the European Union (EU) or European Economic area will require a residence permit in order to study in Sweden for longer than 3 months. They are advised to apply as soon as they receive the notification of selection results. Residence permit applications are handled by the Swedish Migration Board. EU members need to register your right of residence with the Swedish Migration Board. See the Swedish Migration Board’s webpage about studying in Sweden.

Financial Aspects

All students must be able to pay for personal living expenses, course books, insurance, etc. in Sweden. For non-EU-students, evidence that you can support yourself financially will be required when applying for a resident permit. Read more at Swedish Migration Board's website.
