The Rotary Peace Fellowships are offered on a world-competitive basis. Interested candidates must apply for the Peace Fellowships through a local Rotary district.  Applicants cannot have citizenship or permanent residency in the country where the center is located.

Deadline for candidates to submit applications to their Rotary District is 31 May.

All candidates who are non- native English applicants are required to submit either a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exam score.  Submitting both is not required.

Uppsala minimum requirements:

  • The internet-based TOEFL exam = 90
  • The paper-based TOEFL exam = 575
  • The IELTS exam = 6.5

Please note that scores are valid for two years after the test date, scores that are older than 2 years will consider invalid. No other English tests are valid. 

After being selected for a Rotary Peace Fellowship at Uppsala University, the candidates must pass the regular entry requirements for admission to the Master programme in Peace and Conflict studies at Uppsala University. Information about the Master Programme can be found here.
