Project Description

It is well established that forced migration is related to armed conflict. However, we lack systematic research on what accounts for the tremendous variation in the scope and duration of forced migration from one conflict to another. The project aims to fill this research gap through a broadly conceived study of which factors are related to the scope and duration of forced migration in intra-state armed conflict. To this end a new global dataset is created, covering forced migration and various aspects of armed conflict, as well as a large number of other factors from 1964 to the present.
